Here is the baby belly.

This picture was taken this evening. How far I am along is up in the air still. I could be 6 weeks 4 days or I could be 8 weeks. Hopefully next appointment they will confirm for sure with the ultrasound. I feel surprisingly well, I am just tired beyond belief. I am also really bloated which you should be able to tell from this picture.

Oh Baby!

Luke and I are happy to announce that on February 10th 2008 we found out we were going to have a baby.

What has happened so far:

On Monday the 11th I called the doctor to let her know I had a positive HPT (home pregnancy test). She scheduled me to come in for my first appointment on Thursday February 21st.

Our first appointment was not as exciting as I thought it would be. They confirmed I was pregnant and gave us a due date of October 10th. This meant I was approximately 7 weeks pregnant. We met with the doctor who gave us a bunch of paperwork to read through and then told me some general do's and don't. The doctor answered a couple of questions I had and then said to make an appointment for next week for an ultrasound and an intake. Before we left we made an appointment for Tuesday February 26th. After my appointment I went and had blood work done that the doctor had ordered.

February 26th appointment...before my ultrasound I was instructed to drink 32 ounces of water 1 hour prior. This would of been fine if we did not have to wait a hour in the waiting room. After being on the verge of peeing my pants we were finally called back to start the ultrasound. Seeing our baby on the screen took my breath away. Luke and I are truly blessed to be having a baby with what we have endured this past year. During the ultrasound they said they did not think I was 7 weeks and 4 days along as they thought prior, but I looked more like I was only 6 weeks along. This would push my due date to October 20th. We were able to see the heartbeat (you had to look very closely) and that by far was the neatest part. Because there is a discrepancy in dating the pregnancy they said the wanted me to come back in 10 days for another ultrasound. We scheduled our next appointment on Friday March 7th. More blood work after this appointment and this time they took a lot of blood.
