Gymnastic

I have not blogged in well over a month...whoops! I am racking my brain to remember what has been going on. I would say probably the biggest thing is I had surgery 3 weeks ago to remove a tumor in my pituitary gland (it was benign). I spent a few days in the hospital, but since then I am feeling better and better each day. Austin has been an awesome caretaker.

You are probably wondering why I titled this post "Gymnastics?" Just a month ago Austin was going to be the next Hope Solo. Well...we had a bit of an accident at soccer and had to pull Austin out. The place that Austin played at was indoor. Another boy accidentally pushed her into an unpadded pillar.  She got quite a goose egg and gave Luke a really big scare. Unfortunately the owner was unwilling to make the facility safe and we pulled Austin from the program. We did not want Austin to be without an activity so we have recently signed her up for gymnastics. This past Saturday was her first time and she seemed to really enjoy herself. The name of her class is "All By Myself" and this is a perfect name especially with the way Austin has been acting lately. There is no parent participation and they actually make you sit in a room with a giant picture window that you can view you child through.

Good news on the soccer front though. Austin's school is starting a program where a 3rd Party comes in once a week and does a 45 minute soccer class during the day. They are going to do it on Thursdays (one of the days Austin goes) so this will be perfect. They will also be doing it outside on the playground so there will not be any "pillars" in the way.

Other than that we are preparing for Austin's 3rd Birthday (how can my baby be turning 3???) We are having a party for her at a local park here in Cave Creek that has an indoor "Nature Center." We are also having Jungle Jill's Animal Encounters come out for the party.
