May 2013 Update

Wesley has mastered crawling and sitting up and she is now on to pulling herself up on everything and even starting to cruise. She still only has her two bottom teeth and has mastered how to self feed Gerber puffs. I think we are going to move on to small pieces of banana and avocado soon to see how she does. She is a screaming. Not in a I am hurt or sad way, but in a, look I found my voice and I can screech kind of way. We also recently decided to stop using the infant carrier and move her to a regular rear facing carseat. She seems happy and content in it, lets hope it stays like that. On occasion Luke is bathing both girls at once. It normally doesn't make sense since Wesley goes to bed an hour before Austin, but its a treat for both of them.

This past Thursday was Austin's spring concert and the last day of school. We still haven't made our final decision on where Austin will be next year. What we do know is summer school starts next week and Austin is all signed up for 4 days a week. She is actually excited to go to "summer school." She is taking the early entrance exam for Kindergarten at our local public school district in about 2 weeks. I went to the mandatory parents meeting and was almost positive that no matter what we were going to wait until she is 5 to start Kindergarten; however, now I am leaning towards putting her in it if she passes. They said only about 20-25% of the kids pass. If she does pass we will then decide if we are doing Montessori Kindergarten or Cave Creek Public School Kindergarten. If she doesn't pass, I know for sure we will not do Montessori Kindergarten either and she will stay at Montessori in one of the Preschool classes. Gesh, makes me tired just thinking about it.

Luke and I were able to enjoy a date night a few weeks back and joined our friends Chuck and Mel at an ASU Softball game and then we went to a really good restaurant downtown called the Arrogant Butcher. Its the sister restaurant to Culinary Dropout which Luke and I ate at last year. I think I liked the food at Arrogant Butcher better.

I am not sure if I mentioned it last time but Austin started gymnastics at the beginning of the month and is going on Mondays. She is going back to where she was going this last time. We also signed her up for soccer in the fall.

I got to sleep in late, have homemade Eggs Benedict and a mimosa for brunch, received a wonderful infinity necklace with the girl's initials on it and a personalized binder to keep all my recipes in, took a nap, and finished the night with steak and lobster. I am one very lucky Mommy and had a wonderful Mother's day!
