Today we took Austin to her very first movie, Winnie the Pooh. I am not sure who was more excited, Austin or Mommy. I love going to the movies and I was so happy we could finally experience this with Austin. Austin did great! A few times in the beginning of the movie she shouted out at the screen, but Luke and I kept reminding her that you need to be extra quiet in the movie theater. At one point Luke laughed out loud and Austin ssh'd him, LOL! The movie was the perfect length at just over an hour. Right before it ended I could tell Austin was starting to get antsy.
We also decided to put Austin back into soccer. Her "Wee Movement" class ended with the City of Phoenix Parks and Recs and we did not resign her up. She has way to much energy at this point and being able to run at soccer if perfect. Once she turns 3 we will be able to sign her up for actual dances class, so maybe she will become the soccer playing ballerina. :-P

Happy 4th of July
Last night we we to watch fireworks in Cave Creek. Even though we could probably see them from our house I wanted Austin to be closer for her first time. Luke's old coworker, Glenn was nice enough to invite us over to his house. He lives right behind where they do the fireworks, so we have a great view of them.
Austin's bedtime is normally 7:30pm and I was worried all day about her staying up so late. Would she be able to? Would she get really cranky? She of course did great and was quite a ham for all the other guests. Glenn's daughter was their with her 4 weeks old son and Austin was enamored with him. At one point we went to the bathroom and Austin said, "Mom, I want a baby sister."
Since we were so close the fireworks, they were really loud. Bad mommy did not think of this and did not have any ear plugs for Austin. I would say Austin enjoyed the fireworks, but was scared. Obviously not too scared because all morning long she has asked if we get to see more fireworks tonight. We'll see...

The Circus and a Playdate.
This past weekend my friend Swender and her husband Brad and daughter McKenna were in town visiting from Baltimore. We all got together for a playdate on Sunday at the Parson's house. Austin and McKenna quite enjoyed each other's company. We tried to get all the kids to sit together for a picture and as you can see below it was not easy.
On Monday my parents took Austin to the the circus. Of course Austin enjoyed the animals the most and loves to flip through the program and tell Luke and I all about it.
From left to right: Mckenna (Swender), Eli (Dara), Austin, Cooper (Dena) and Jaxson (Ragen).
