Wow, I really don't even know where to start. First I am officially into double digits. Only 98 days to go. I am sure you can see a difference in my belly this week, I know I can. I assume this has something to do with all the eating that Luke and I did this weekend in Chicago. I think my belly button is going to pop out any day now. I also experienced swelling of my feet and ankles for the first time this past weekend. This is not pretty, trust me.
Last Sunday Luke and I went on a tour of the hospital we plan on delivery at. I am really glad we took the opportunity to due so. Just knowing where to park, go in and where admittance is puts me a little more at ease. The hospital we are delivering at is Scottsdale Healthcare Shea. I cannot believe how nice the hospital is. They have really great amenities that make you feel you are at a resort, not a hospital. The hospital has a full spa and you can spa treatments in your room after you deliver. Also in the maternity suites you have a small fridge, microwave, DVD player, CD Player and you can order pay per view movies. When the women who was giving the tour talked about the food service, she actually called it "room service." They have a special company that caters the menu and it is available 24 hours a day. She said once Mom delivers she is going to be hungry and we all know babies don't always come during business hours. I was quite wowed with all of this.
This past weekend Luke and I went to Chicago to visit my Dad's side of the family and to have a shower there. We had a wonderful time while we were there and my shower was great. I cannot believe how generous everyone there was. We are very grateful to Connie, my Aunt Dee & Mary and Grandma Louise for putting it together. Getting home from Chicago was another story. All I can say is when we walked in the door at 2:30am this morning, I have never been more happy to be home in my life.
We had a very pleasant surprise when we got home this morning. My Mom and my stepdad Rob came over this weekend and painted the entire nursery. It looks great and we are so excited to have that done and out of the way. I will have to take some pictures and post them of how it looks all painted. They did an awesome job!
When we finally rolled out of bed this morning at 10:30am, I ate a light breakfast, waited an hour and went to take my one hour glucose test. It was not as bad as I thought, but I pray that I pass and do not have to do the three hour glucose test. We should have the results back by our doctor's appointment next Tuesday.
