June 2013 Update

Wesley went to her 9 month check up on Friday and she weighed in at an even 21 lbs (88%) and 29 3/4 inches long (99%). She is actually almost a 1 lb and an inch longer than Austin at this point. As my Dad put it, we might need to move Austin to power forward and Wesley can be the center. Wesley still only has her 2 bottom teeth, but the doctor said the top two front teeth should be cutting through any day now, you can see the white of the tooth through her gums. She is still enjoying her purees, Gerber Puffs, and small pieces of banana and avocado. The doctor said she can have anything small than a Cheerios that she can mash with her gums at this point.

Wesley is starting to climb (eek) and also walk (cruise) using a variety of different toys from her music table to her shopping cart. She actually took two unassisted step last Sunday on Father's day, but nothing since. We recently introduced Wesley to the swimming pool. At first she was not too keen on getting in it, but after some coaxing from her sister she got in and seemed to enjoy herself.

Austin has been busy with summer camp four days a week. It's fun for her because each day they have a different theme. This past week one of the days was Pirate Day and Austin was so excited for the treasure hunt they went on. Austin is continuing to do gymnastics through the summer at least until soccer starts in the fall. Speaking of the fall...we got the letter in the mail that Austin had been accepted into the early entrance Kindergarten program (I knew she was a smartypants). We have decided thought to keep her at Montessori for Kindergarten and then she will go to public school for first grade (the same elementary school that Luke and I both went too).

We had a nice relaxing Father's day this year. Luke told me he just wanted to hang out at the house with his girls. We let Daddy sleep in and then made him a special breakfast (cinnamon rolls), lunch (bratwurst) and dinner (BBQ Ribs). The girls got him a new TV for out in the garage (where he can escape from the craziness of living with 4 women).
